Beef Stroganoff

Yesterday as I was thinking of what to prepare for dinner, I realized that I have been cooking Beef with tomato base stew quite a lot. I went online and tried looking for a simple recipe. I did find a lot of simple beef recipes, but some of it required a lot of ingredients that wasn’t available in my cupboard of spices.

Then I remembered a friend who brought Beef Stroganoff  in one of our potlucks. I can’t forget this recipe as she kept on insisting that the lady who prepared the dish for her said it is called “Beef Stroganoss”. So I passed by my local grocers and bought some mushrooms (canned – Too lazy to slice) and some sour cream. That’s basically all what I needed to prepare my Beef Stroganoff! (I already had a kilo of Beef at home).

Let’s get it on!

What You’ll need:

1 Kg. of Sirloin Beef (Or any beef sliced thinly)

1 cup Sour Cream

2 cups Beef broth (preferably low sodium)

1 can sliced mushrooms

1 Onion (Diced)

3 Cloves Garlic (Diced)

2 Tbsp. Butter

1 tsp. Dijon mustard

2 Tbsp. Olive oil

Salt and Pepper

Let’s Start Cooking

1.) In a deep pot or pressure cooker heat up your olive oil and margarine then saute your onion and garlic.

2.) Add the Beef slices and cook until the meats color changes to light brown.

3.) Add the Dijon mustard and Beef Broth.

4.) Cover the Pressure cooker (I cooked mine for 15 minutes – Started timing when the cooker started releasing pressure).

5.) Add the Sour cream and mushrooms and mix well.

6.) Simmer for a couple of minutes about  5-10 minutes.

This dish can either be served with a bread, Egg Noodles, Pasta or Rice. A quick but delicious meal for you and your loved ones.

Try it and let me know what you think!
